Using data and insight teams we tested different styles on our players and target audience. This had interesting findings and we evolved the style accordingly. Here we made Bill more mature and less cartoon which led to a winning style for Season 4.

On joining the team the backgrounds were photos with filters over them. I wanted even the backgrounds to help tell the story and deliver emotion.
